Important Claims Information Regarding Skilled Home Health Care Agencies

For care with dates of service beginning Jan. 1, 2022, VA will no longer require Requests for Anticipated Payments (RAP) or Notice of Admission (NOA) to be submitted with home health care claims submitted to VA. Please refer to this Quick Reference Guide for more detailed information regarding this change.

How to File Electronic Claims

All CCN claims process electronically, regardless of the method of submission. Improve your claim submission accuracy and payment timing with electronic submission and funds transfer.

Sign Up: Go to Availity.com and log in. Go to TriWest’s Payer Space. Select the “Resources” tab. Find “PGBA EFT/ERA Enrollment Package” and/or “PGBA EDI Provider Trading Partner Agreement” for instructions.

Check Multiple Claims and View Remittances

Visit Availity and select Claims & Payments on the top navigation, then select Claim Status.

VA Referral/Authorization Number Required with Claims Submission

TriWest requires the VA referral/authorization number with all CCN and PC3 claims submissions. All claims submitted without a VA referral/authorization number will be denied. The only exception is urgent care. Read more about the proper format for referral numbers in a claim.
