TriWest Employees and Family Members Share 9/11 Reflections on Patriot Day

PHOENIX (September 11, 2023) – Twenty-two years ago today beginning at 8:46 a.m. EST, 2,977 victims were tragically killed during the Sept. 11, 2001, airliner hijacking attacks.

The attacks targeted the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Va., and one plane routed toward the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

Many Americans can still recall their activities on that day. Two months after 9/11, on Oct. 25, 2001, Congress passed a Patriot Day resolution with the first observance Sept. 11, 2002.

Following 9/11 attacks, many Americans joined the U.S. military or proudly deployed on major military operations overseas to disrupt further terrorism attacks.

At TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest), several employees have a personal connection to the national response to 9/11. Some employees deployed or have family members who deployed after 9/11 to help disrupt further terrorism threats.

For Patriot Day and our appreciation of those who deployed following the 9/11 attacks, we're sharing reflections of a few TriWest-connected individuals from their personal experience.
