TriWest Receives URAC Health Network Accreditation

PHOENIX, Ariz., August, 14, 2015 — TriWest Healthcare Alliance announced today that it has been awarded full health care network accreditation pursuant to Health Network, Version 7.1 from URAC, a Washington, D.C.-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. The full accreditation is valid for three years.

"It is our mission to ensure our nation’s Veterans – our customers – have access to the highest standard of quality health care providers available through our network,” said David J. McIntyre, Jr., President and CEO of TriWest Healthcare Alliance.

As a partner to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), TriWest administers the VA’s Patient-Centered Community Care (PC3) program and the Veterans Choice Program (VCP). The Veterans Choice Program is for those Veterans who live more than 40 miles from a VA medical facility, or if they have waited longer than 30 days for a medical appointment, to obtain health care in their community from a non-VA provider.

"URAC representatives took great care to examine our business practices and in doing so, determined that our health care network meets their rigorous standard of quality,” said David Brooks, Vice President of Provider Services for TriWest Healthcare Alliance. “By achieving this accreditation, the Veterans we serve will have further confirmation that they are receiving the highest level of care."
