TriWest Proud to Join DAV in Their Mission to Support Disabled Veterans

Phoenix, AZ (August 29, 2022) – The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is an Erlanger, Ky., national non-profit organization that provides lifetime support for U.S. Armed Forces Veterans of all generations and their families. Their driving cause is to perform the important mission of providing positive, life-changing support and services.

As an organization that delivers nationwide support for disabled Veterans and their families, DAV works to ensure full access to earned benefits, provide relief for Veterans facing difficult times, and advocates for Veterans on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Other important DAV support activities include connecting Veterans to meaningful employment.

Each year, DAV holds its DAV & Auxiliary National Convention where an estimated 3,000 DAV members, families and guests meet to conduct the organization’s business. At this year’s national convention, TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest) was honored to continue its longtime support of DAV’s mission and services, and participating as a sponsor at the event.

Adrian Atizado, TriWest’s Director of Government Relations and Strategic Communications, has attended the last two DAV conventions, including this year’s event and summarized the experience as a gathering of like-minded, purpose-driven advocates.

“While important work is done during the DAV & Auxiliary National Convention, it is also a reunion of old battle buddies, friends, and fellow DAV members who have become your extended family,” Atizado said, offering his observations of the event.

“My favorite part of the event is meeting with my fellow Veterans, and as a TriWest representative to see if there is anything I can do to educate and help with their health care benefits through the VA’s Community Care Network,” Atizado added.

This year, TriWest was proud to receive both the National Adjutant Circle and the Champion of Heroes awards at the National Convention. TriWest has long supported the DAV in their mission to empower Veterans to live high-quality lives.

TriWest also proudly sponsored the Lt. Dan Band at the 2022 DAV Convention. The American cover band was originally formed in 2004 by actor Gary Sinise and musician-composer Kimo Williams, and is named after the Sinise character “Lt. Dan Taylor” in the film Forest Gump. The music group performs at USO shows, entertains troops, and raises money for disabled Veterans.
