National Suicide Prevention Month: DOD and VA Prioritize Approaches That Save Lives

PHOENIX (Sept. 22, 2025) — In our nation’s military and Veteran communities, suicide remains a serious issue that is deeply challenging, difficult to address, and carries emotional impacts for the unfortunate loss of valued life.

September is National Suicide Prevention Month and we can all increase our knowledge, improve awareness, and understand our part to take action and help save lives in our military and Veteran communities.

As a proud partner with the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to help prevent suicide, this month TriWest Healthcare Alliance is spotlighting an informational campaign to support DOD’s and VA’s shared priorities – “Committed to the Fight: Suicide Prevention.”

We are committed to helping military-connected individuals and our workforce who may be in crisis – or know someone who might be – by sharing important information and resources to address and prevent suicide.

Together, we can stay in the battle. Please check out this new Healthy Homefront® article on how DOD and VA are prioritizing effective approaches to help prevent suicide.
