TRICARE Beneficiaries Can Access Needed Services at Home with Virtual Care

PHOENIX (July 18, 2025) — As TRICARE beneficiaries, active duty service members, military retirees, and family members have access to a robust network of quality health care providers who deliver a range of needed services.

The Defense Health Agency (DHA) wants all TRICARE beneficiaries to also know they have convenient access to virtual health care from network providers to help maximize their benefits and wellness.

Virtual care is provided through secure video sessions, phone appointments, and other technology resources. TRICARE virtual care increases beneficiaries' access to primary care, urgent care, mental health care, specialty services, and more, DHA says.

Beneficiaries can remotely access needed care, but DHA advises calling or visiting their TRICARE contractor's website before scheduling appointments.

As the West Region contractor, TriWest Healthcare Alliance has a telemedicine web page on virtual care, including important information about necessary referrals.

TRICARE West Region beneficiaries should also read this TRICARE Newsroom article on getting virtual care with TRICARE.
