VA Leads Way in Advancing Health Care Services for Women Veterans
PHOENIX (June 14, 2025) – The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) reports that women Veterans are the fastest-growing group of VA beneficiaries. More than two million women Veterans currently live across the nation, VA says.
As the fastest-growing beneficiary group, VA has been advancing its health care services for women Veterans. Their specific and unique health care needs have led to increased access, expanded services, and improved specialized care, VA says.
Every VA medical center now has designated providers for women Veterans’ specific needs. They provide comprehensive, whole-person care focused on women’s experiences in uniform and after their service.
Services include birth control, breast health, fertility care, menopause, mental health care, and more. VA says its priority is to hear, see, and be there for women and their specific health care needs.
