Soldier’s Best Friend Provides Therapeutic Dogs for Veterans in Need

PHOENIX (August 21, 2026) – For Veterans who have experienced serious injury or trauma during their Service, the transition to civilian life can be stressful and challenging.

Following military life, Veterans who deal with isolation due to serious injuries or struggle with mental health conditions sometimes find navigating a new life can lead to emotional difficulties.

In Arizona, Soldier’s Best Friend provides Veterans with complex conditions such post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury specially trained dogs to navigate life with improved confidence.

Launched in 2011, the organization pairs rescued dogs with Veterans in need. As a strong supporter of Soldier’s Best Friend, TriWest Healthcare Alliance has been proud to donate to its mission to rescue, foster, and match homeless dogs to Veterans dealing with challenging injuries from Service.
