TriWest Reaches 100 Million Veteran Care Encounters Within its Dedicated Provider Network

PHOENIX (August 25, 2026) – TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest) announced today it has reached a major patient care milestone of facilitating 100 million Veteran encounters within its provider network in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Community Care programs.

This is a significant milestone in providing access to deserved care for our nation’s Veterans. Since 2014, TriWest has been successfully partnering with VA to enhance Veterans’ access to care by administering healthcare for Veterans in the community.

As the current third party administrator for VA’s Community Care Network territory covering the entire 14-state Western United States, Alaska, and the U.S. Pacific Territories, TriWest reached the milestone facilitating both initial and follow-up visits through its network of community-based healthcare professionals.

As a result, TriWest has now achieved 100 million total Veteran encounters for community healthcare within our network of 350,000 providers.

TriWest’s CCN contracts enhance Veteran access to healthcare services by making a quality provider network available in the communities where they live. These contracts ensure Veterans receive coordinated, high-quality care in their community when VA refers care to the network.

Starting January 1, 2025, in addition to its work with VA, TriWest was privileged to return to administering the TRICARE contract and delivering healthcare services to TRICARE beneficiaries, including active duty members, retirees, and their families in the 26-state TRICARE West Region.
