Military Treatment Facility Patients: Beware of MHS GENESIS Health Scams

PHOENIX (February 9, 2026) — For Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries who receive care at a military treatment facility (MTF), the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal allows managing your care online.

But be careful, the Defense Health Agency (DHA) cautions. Online scammers are using fake websites that look like MHS GENESIS portal pages to steal personal information.

The fake sites try to trick MTF patients into revealing health information, DHS says.

DHA emphasizes that official MHS GENESIS Patient Portal access starts through trusted, secure sources and has a URL that ends with “.mil.”

If an MHS or DHA website doesn’t look official, DHA strongly advises users to stop and check before proceeding.

DHS also wants to inform MHS GENESIS users how to identify scam websites, and what to do if they encounter one.
