The Defense Health Agency (DHA) has announced that starting Jan. 1, some TRICARE Pharmacy Program beneficiaries may have new copayments to receive their prescriptions.

According to DHA, most beneficiaries will pay $1 to $9 more per copayment for covered medications received through the Pharmacy Home Delivery program and TRICARE retail network pharmacies.

The new costs will be in effect through Dec. 31, 2027, based on the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018. Under the act, medication costs for TRICARE Pharmacy Program beneficiaries were established for a 10-year period.
