TriWest Testimony Statement

Statement from TriWest Healthcare Alliance CEO David McIntyre on the Progress and Promise of the Choice Card Program

WASHINGTON, DC – This afternoon, TriWest Healthcare Alliance President and CEO David McIntyre testified before the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs on the progress and promise of the Veterans Choice Program. In conjunction with his testimony, Mr. McIntyre released the following statement:

"Supporting the needs of America's Veterans is a tremendous honor for TriWest and the providers within our network. For 20 years, our mission has been to provide America's Military Service Members and Veterans access to the quality health care they deserve. While the implementation of the Veterans Choice Program has not been without challenges, implementation is ongoing and we have accomplished a lot in a short period of time. We continue to collaborate with our partners in Congress and VA, building on the progress made to help ensure that every Veteran who needs health care can get it. The beauty of the Veterans Choice Program is that it sets the stage for a more robust and complete medical experience for Veterans because it focuses everyone on a single goal – VA facility by VA facility – which is the promise of providing Veterans access to the health care that they need, and in a timely, reliable manner.

We believe as the program continues to expand and grow, there will be an increased reliance on the program and it will continue to gain momentum. We look forward to lasting progress and results for those whom we are honored and privileged to serve."
