Demand/Capacity Tool User Guide

  1. Enter your https://va-qa.triwest.com user credentials to access the VA Portal.
  2. Once you have entered the VA Portal, select the Demand/Capacity tab to view network reports for your VAMC catchment area in a dashboard.
  3. The Demand/Capacity tool consists of dashboards allowing each VAMC to view current performance and capabilities of TriWest's network of providers.
  4. If you determine there is a network build need for your VAMC, select the Build Request Form at the top right of the VA Portal Demand/Capacity tab.
    1. Enter the required information as instructed within the Build Request Form and please add additional details to assist TriWest in meeting your requirements as quickly as possible.
    2. You will have the option to flag Build Request submissions as urgent based on approval from your VAMC's Senior Leadership team. Please see the FAQ for additional detail on what constitutes an urgent request.
  5. If you determine there is an upcoming surge of appointments to be sent to TriWest from your VAMC, select the Surge Notification Form at the top right of the VA Portal Demand/Capacity tab.
    1. Enter the required information as instructed within the Surge Notification Form and please add additional details to assist TriWest in meeting your requirements as quickly as possible.
    2. You will have the option to flag Surge Notification submissions as urgent based on approval from your VAMC's Senior Leadership team. Please see the FAQ for additional detail on what constitutes an urgent request.
  6. To provide information to TriWest on your VAMC's internal capability, select the VAMC Capacity Form at the top right of the VA Portal Demand/Capacity tab.
  7. Provide the average monthly volume of appointments your facility sees internally as well as the number of VAMC or CBOC providers to allow TriWest to analyze and refine the TriWest network to best support VA in providing care to Veterans. You can view the status of each form submission by selecting the Form Log button at the top right of the VA Portal Demand/Capacity tab.
    1. After you are directed to the Form Log, you will be presented with three options to view the status of your form submissions (Build Request Form, Surge Notification Form, and VAMC Capacity Form).
    2. You will be provided with the option to view the high-level status displayed on the Form Log for each of your submissions, or to see a more detailed view by selecting the Request ID shown on the left-hand side of the Form Log.
    3. If you select the Request ID shown on the left-hand side of the Form Log, you will be directed to the original submitted form, which will have a new section for TriWest status updates.
  8. If the Build Request Form or Surge Notification Form is no longer applicable or necessary for your VAMC, you will have the option to cancel the request.
    1. Select the Cancel Request button at the bottom of the Build Request Form or Surge Notification Form, and you will be prompted for the reason for canceling. Select the Save Cancelation button once complete.
  9. TriWest will actively and promptly respond to all submissions; please be sure to track the status of your request through the Form Log.
