VA Mobile Medical Units Help Unsheltered Veterans Access Health Care
WASHINGTON (August 12, 2024) — The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has put into service 25 new Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) across the nation to bring health care services to unsheltered Veterans and help them overcome obstacles to care.
The new MMUs are specifically designated to deliver direct medical care to unsheltered Veterans, particularly those living without access to a phone or transportation, according to VA.
To help raise awareness of its MMU program, VA is also sharing a recent Ending Veteran Homelessness podcast that explores the new MMUs and their mission to serve hard-to-reach Veterans.
