Under the direction of the 2007 National Defense Authorization Act, some of the features of the existing TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS) program will be changing.

TRS will remain the premium-based TRICARE health plan qualified National Guard and Reserve members may purchase, but will no longer involve the use of the Tiers system. Currently policy makers are working on an implementation plan to support these changes and current TRS beneficiaries should not expect to see any new policies prior to September 30, 2007.

Until then, if you elect to receive the TRS benefit, you will qualify for one of the three tiers, and pay the premiums established for fiscal year 2006.
