Moved? Be Sure to Keep TRICARE, Doctor Updated

If you are a part of an active duty military family, you are probably used to making frequent moves. During your next move, in addition to packing and notifying the post office of another new address, be sure to update your records with the Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System (DEERS), TriWest and your doctor. 

Update DEERS

Always remember to update your record in DEERS whenever a life change occurs. To update your DEERS record online, visit www.dmdc.osd.mil/appi/address/index.isp. You may also update your DEERS record by:

Update TriWest

Please also update your address records with TriWest Healthcare Alliance. If you are a registered user at www.triwest.com, simply make the address change online from your Personal Profile page.

Update Your PCM

Finally, it is important to update your primary care manager (PCM) before or after a move in order to prevent health information from being sent to a wrong address. If you fail to update your doctor, your explanation of benefits (EOB) will be sent to the address on file with the doctor’s office. This could mean misdirected health information and payments.
