Medical plans vary by location and options allow employees to select the most appropriate coverage for themselves and their families. Health care coverage as an employee also includes access to dental insurance and vision care. Life InsuranceTriWest provides basic life insurance for every full-time employee the first of the month after 30 days of service. The policy provides coverage of two times your annual base salary upon death. In some cases of accidental death or dismemberment, your selected beneficiary could receive an additional two times your annual base salary. Disability InsuranceTriWest covers basic short-term disability insurance for all eligible full-time employees. The coverage pays up to 50 percent of the base salary for up to six months. Employees are able to purchase additional short-term disability coverage that raises the disability compensation to 66.7 percent of your base pay for the same six-month period. TriWest also covers basic long-term disability insurance for all eligible employees. This plan pays 60 percent of the base salary until the employee is no longer disabled or starts collecting other disability benefits. For most employees coverage begin on the 1st of the month after 30 days of service. Retirement PlanningTriWest sponsors a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Through this plan, employees may access 21 investment options from respected companies. TriWest matches payroll contributions, dollar-for-dollar, up to 5 percent of your pay, tax free. Investments can be monitored and adjusted around the clock through a 401(k)-dedicated Web site. College Savings PlanTriWest employees may open a college savings account (or "529 plan") to save for a family member's education. Contributions to the account grow tax free and remain tax free if used for college tuition or room and board. The money can be used at colleges within the United States or abroad. Educational ReimbursementTriWest offers college tuition and textbook reimbursement to full-time employees when classes relate to your present position or a career opportunity within the company. Eligible classes are part of a curriculum that leads to completion of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. Courses for Master's degrees may be covered after one year of employment. Classes are reimbursed upon earning a minimum "C" grade. Paid Time OffAs a government contractor, TriWest observes all paid, federal holidays. Additionally, paid time off (PTO) accrues with each pay period totaling approximately three weeks of vacation per calendar year. PTO may be carried over from one year to the next. Employees who have experienced a serious medical condition or other catastrophic event in their family may receive additional PTO donations from colleagues. Incentive PayThe "5-Star Program" is TriWest's employee rewards plan that offers staff recognition and financial rewards for doing "Whatever It Takes" to serve our customers and each other well. Staff may receive gift certificates and company merchandise, one-time bonuses of $75-$1,000, or annual bonuses of up to 8 percent of base pay. Pet InsuranceThrough Veterinary Pet Insurance, TriWest employees can prepare for veterinary costs. Pet insurance covers medical problems and conditions related to accident or illness. It helps pay for lab fees, treatment, prescriptions or surgery after you pay a per-incident deductible. Long-Term CareEmployees may plan ahead to be reimbursed for daily nursing home care or community-based care. Premiums are based on one's age at enrollment; long-term care coverage may be needed when a chronic illness or disability limits one's ability to manage daily living needs, such as bathing, dressing and eating. Once enrolled, employees may keep this coverage for themselves or a family member, even if they change jobs. |
