Dr. Kenneth L. Farmer, Jr.
Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Farmer has management oversight for much of TriWest’s corporate day-to-day operations, to include: field, customer service and clinical operations; business continuity planning; and process quality improvement. In this role, he oversees the majority of TriWest's employee base encompassing six market areas. Retired as a Major General from the U.S. Army Medical Corps, Dr. Farmer previously served as the Commanding General, North Atlantic Regional Medical Command and Walter Reed Army Medical Center for more than two years. Prior to that he served as the Deputy Surgeon General, U.S. Army and as the Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Medical Command, among other command assignments. Dr. Farmer is a family practice physician who earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University and a medical degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Farmer received board certification from the American Board of Family Practice and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians. In 2001, he received the academy's Robert Graham Award as most outstanding physician executive.
