Dr. Frank MaguireAfter having deployed to a combat zone, there’s a good chance you’ll come back with various symptoms. These symptoms may be physical symptoms or they may involve relationships with other people. You may notice some changes in yourself or for that matter you may notice changes in the loved ones around you. When you come back, you may have the following symptoms: you may have some problems with sleep disorders; you may have headaches; you may have changes in your appetite associated with either weight gain or weight loss. There may be changes in your bowel habits. For that matter you may have experienced shortness of breath, palpitations, rapid heart beat. If you’re having any of these symptoms it’s very important that you realize that they may go away with time; what we call tincture of time. On the other hand, some of these symptoms persist and they represent a real problem for you, and it’s very important that you share those symptoms with your provider the sooner the better. |
