TRICARE Quarterly Injectable Drug Update

In its quarterly injectable drug updates, TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) has indicated to TriWest Healthcare Alliance (TriWest) that the following two injectable medications no longer have a CHAMPUS Maximum Allowable Charge (CMAC) rate:
- J0270 – Injection, Alprostadil
- J9001 – Injection, Doxorubicin Hydrochloride, all Lipid formulations
Effective August 1, 2012, providers must bill these drugs with National Drug Codes.
