Frequently Asked Questions
What is Allotment?
Allotment is a monthly automated deduction from the sponsor’s uniformed services retirement pay used to pay your TRICARE Prime annual enrollment fee. Allotment is not available to pay any monthly premiums.
What is EFT?
Electronic funds transfer (EFT) transfers funds directly from your financial institution to TriWest, and not as an online bill pay from your bank. A bank's online bill pay does not meet TRICARE's electronic payment requirements, since most banks still issue physical checks for online payments. You may choose the EFT option to pay your annual enrollment fee or your monthly premium.
Is a TriWest.com account secure?
For your safety, TriWest uses a secure website that comes with protected access while managing your family’s healthcare.
Should I register even if I don't owe enrollment fees or monthly premiums?
As a registered user on TriWest.com you can check claim status and receive QuickAlert text alerts or emails when your authorizations or referrals are processed, reducing your wait time for specialty care; no more waiting for the mail.
If I choose an automatic payment option, can I view my payment history online?
For your convenience, you will be able to view payment history and claims status when you want, from any Internet connection around the world, through your secure TriWest.com account.
Can I manage other enrollment options online?
Is your address current? Have you had a life changing event—perhaps a baby? Then you’ll want to make sure you and your new bundle of joy are covered. TRICARE’s Beneficiary Web Enrollment site allows TRICARE sponsors to simultaneously update personal contact information to TRICARE and DEERS anytime, from any Internet connection.
