TriWest Congratulates ESGR on 40 Years of Service

6/22/2012

PHOENIX —TriWest Healthcare Alliance offers congratulations to Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) for the government agency’s 40 years of promoting cooperation and support between National Guardsmen, Reservists and their employers.

“It’s with great pleasure that we take time to applaud the ESGR for its outstanding work to support the National Guard and Reserve,” said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. “Since 1972, ESGR has exhibited a deep commitment to our citizen warriors and their families, ensuring that these families don’t need to worry about whether they’ll still have a job or benefits to return home to after selflessly serving their country.”

In 2009, TriWest received ESGR’s highest award—the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award—for outstanding support of its National Guard and Reserve employees.

“Without a doubt, receiving ESGR’s Freedom Award was one of our proudest moments as a company,” McIntyre said. “We remain committed to employing members of the Guard and Reserve, and making sure that they’re taken care of while off defending America."

TriWest became one of only 160 companies nationwide to receive such an award in the last 40 years for a number of programs offered, including:

  • Providing National Guard and Reserve employees differential pay between their military pay and TriWest salary during deployments.
  • Continuing employee and enrolled family members’ medical benefits during deployments.
  • The “We Care” program for employees with deployed family members, which allows for flexible work schedules while keeping full-time benefits.
