In honor of National Doctors′ Day on Tuesday, March 30, Service members and their families now can say “thanks” to the doctors who’ve made a positive difference in their lives.  Just click on the box to your right. About National Doctors’ Day

National Doctors’ Day marks the anniversary of Dr. Crawford Long’s first use of general anesthesia in surgery, when he used ether to remove a tumor on a patient’s neck on March 30, 1842.
In 1990, with overwhelming approval by the House and Senate, President George H. W. Bush signed a resolution designating March 30 as National Doctors’ Day.
The first National Doctors’ Day was celebrated in 1991.
